Embodied VoiceWork: Beyond Singing

AVAILABLE NOW!

Embodied VoiceWork; Beyond Singing is a theoretical, practical and poetic introduction to the practice of Embodied VoiceWork (EVW), an improvisational method originated by singer/composer, professor and vocal music therapy pioneer Lisa Sokolov.

EVW explores vocal improvisation as an expressive language and transformational tool. It lays out the resources and the power within the process of connecting into the essentials of music, the body, and the breath, and freeing the voice.

This work has been applied in music therapy practice, arts education and human potential work. The book contains poetry, theoretical groundwork, and a sequence of 60 serious “games” used in this practice. The appendix lays out a basic curriculum structure for Embodied VoiceWork Practitioners.

Embodied VoiceWork: Beyond Singing is for music therapists, musicians, movers, theater makers, arts therapists, body/mind therapists, educators, professional singers or people who are afraid to sing a note. It is a book for participants and practitioners of Embodied VoiceWork and body/mind/soul explorers.
