Embodied VoiceWork, pioneered by Lisa Sokolov, is a method exploring the resources and power within the process of freeing your voice. Through listening and sensing, each person will come into deeper relationship with their body and their own music. Through free vocal improvisation we come to understand non-verbal singing as a language. We will explore the vocabulary of the essentials of the language: resonance, tone and interval. Solo work evolves into duet, quartet and group work. This work is about listening.

This work is about making connection with the wisdom of your body and your breath. It is about connecting into deep impulse and giving voice to what is heard and felt. This work opens our ears and sensitizes us to the liminal world of music. It cultivates a healthy, powerful vocal technique and opens individuals to a powerful soulful experience of expressive aliveness. EVW is a method applied in arts education, music therapy and human potential work.
